Course Description

This course prepares students for NCEA Level 1 Textiles Technology.  Students explore Textiles Design from ideation to evaluation of outcomes.   Textiles is assessed through both practical and written tasks using student driven projects.  Using the creative process students develop proposals to design outcomes using experimentation and critical thinking. 

The course will include:

  • Basic Pattern making and alterations
  • Techniques using knit and woven textiles
  • Communication Design
  • Elements of design
  • Problem Solving and Prototyping
  • Technological Prototyping
  • Photoshoot Presentations
