Level 2 Mathematics with Financial Literacy
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Miss E. Jeffery.
This course will focus on mathematical skills and financial literacy that is needed in the community and in the workplace, with an emphasis on improving vocational mathematical knowledge.
Students who take this course will be able to choose from a range of topics that are relevant to their intended career pathway. These may include personal banking, budgeting, taxation, and insurance as well as networks and simulations.
The style of learning within this course is composed of a mixture of group work, individual work, and teacher-led learning.
Course Overview
Term 1
In Term One students will be completing the first of two achievement standards, Network Methods. The students will make a start on the content related to the first unit standard, Banking Products.
Term 2
In Term Two the students will complete the assessment for the Banking Products unit standard. At the conclusion of that unit students will move onto Taxation.
Term 3
In Term Three the students will complete the final achievement standard offered in this course, Simulations. The students will then move onto the Insurance unit.
Term 4
To conclude the end of the course, the students complete the Flatting unit standard.
Recommended Prior Learning
It is highly recommended that student's have Level One Literacy and Numeracy.
Equipment/Stationery
It is highly recommended that students have a Casio scientific calculator and a copy of the walker maths workbook Networks
