Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs A. King

This course continues learning from Year 10 Health and Physical Education. Students will analyse a range of contemporary Health issues including drugs, alcohol and sexuality. Students will learn about strategies to improve well-being and will take action to improve their own well-being.  This course is well suited to students who are interested in developing self-directed research skills.


Course Costs:

A course contribution of $30 is requested to help over the cost of having guest presenters.

Term 1
Take action to enhance an aspect of personal well-being

then:

Demonstrate understanding of ways in which well-being can change and strategies to support well-being

Term 2
Demonstrate understanding of strategies for promoting positive sexuality

Term 3
Demonstrate understanding of interpersonal skills used to enhance relationships

Term 4
External preparation for: Demonstrate understanding of issues to make health enhancing decisions in drug-related situations
