Course Description

During this course students and their teacher will consult as to how many external standards the student might sit. There are five internal achievement standards, covering creative and formal writing, speaking, close reading of visual text and creating a visual image. Of the examination standards, two are text based and one is close reading.  This course is designed to allow students to gain their ten NCEA literacy credits. Some students may do this via the unit standard pathway. For most students, this course will focus on writing persuasive essays This is a crucial skill for any tertiary training and many careers.
